Baseball is back!

The Paris Coyotes baseball team is back at it again. Starting off the season, the Coyotes have not lost, with records of 2-0 for varsity and 1-0 for junior varsity.

Coach Michael Fible believes that quality defense and pitching is key to continuing to stay successful.

“This year’s team is very, very talented…If we are able to consistently play great defense and have quality starts we will be a very good team this season. Offensively we have to continue to be aggressive at the plate and running the bases. This year we look forward to competing every game out.”

The team has made it their goal to win the conference tournament, an objective not reached since 2011, and to win districts.

“The guys still feel the sting from getting a chance to play in the district championship last season, and are hungry to get back to the championship,” said Fible.

Today, the Coyotes play at Salisbury at 5:00 p.m. and the next game at home is this Thursday, April 7 at 5:00 p.m. against Cairo.
